Common questions
What is the difference between a pigeon net and a mosquito net?
A pigeon net has a wider mesh and is built to stop birds — it is fixed across the balcony opening with anchor fittings. A mosquito net has a very fine mesh in a sliding or pleated aluminium frame and stops insects. They solve different problems and are often fitted together.
Does a pigeon net block the view or the breeze?
No. The mesh is thin and UV-treated, so from inside it is barely noticeable, and air passes through freely. That is the main reason people choose it over closing the balcony in.
How safe is an invisible grill compared with a traditional iron grill?
Invisible grills use closely spaced stainless steel cables under tension, anchored into the structure. They are designed for child and pet safety and do not rust. An iron grill is heavier and blocks both view and light, which is why most new flats in Surat now choose invisible grills.
How long do pigeon nets last in Surat's sun?
A UV-treated nylon net typically lasts 5 to 8 years outdoors. Untreated nets degrade in 2 to 3 years in direct sun, which is why we only fit UV-treated mesh.
Can nets and grills be installed in a rented flat?
Yes. Both are fitted with anchors into the frame or wall and can be removed later. Check with your landlord first, since anchors leave small holes.
How quickly can a pigeon net be installed?
Most balconies are measured and fitted within 1 to 2 days. The installation itself usually takes 2 to 3 hours.
